Permanent Decorative Lighting to Be Installed by CDA on Islamabad’s Main Avenues

Islamabad– The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a groundbreaking initiative to permanently install decorative lights on the city’s major roads. This ambitious project is a key component of Islamabad’s ongoing beautification plan, aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the federal capital.

In a meeting presided over by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the decision was made. The chairman highlighted that the decorative lighting project will prioritize energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability, ensuring a lasting impact on Islamabad’s urban landscape.

First Phase of Implementation

The initial phase of the project will see LED floodlights installed along Constitution Avenue, a symbolic and frequently traveled area. According to officials, these lights will not only enhance visibility at night but also contribute to the city’s modern and sophisticated charm.

During the briefing, the chairman stressed the need for effective and permanent protective measures to safeguard the installations. Additionally, he instructed the preparation of a PC-I for swift approval and immediate implementation of the plan.

Comprehensive Beautification Efforts

As part of a broader beautification strategy, the CDA is working on multiple fronts:

  • Repair of Signboards: Existing sign and directional boards across the city will undergo immediate repairs.
  • Architectural Team Formation: A dedicated team of architects will assist in creating a visually appealing and cohesive urban environment.
  • Symmetry in Urban Design: The beautification plan aims to maintain a harmonious balance between Islamabad’s natural beauty and modern urban infrastructure.
 
In addition to these efforts, vibrant flowering plants have been strategically planted throughout the city, ensuring year-round visual delight.

The meeting also included discussions on enhancing Islamabad’s recreational spaces. Fatima Jinnah F-9 Park, a beloved public space, will be further developed to serve as a hub for recreational activities. This initiative will include upgraded facilities and additional attractions for families and tourists alike.
