Islamabad: Leksei Kushnarenko, Belarus’s deputy minister for industries, met with Member Administration Talat Mehmood Gondal during his visit to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters in Islamabad on September 26.

According to specifics, the visit was a major step in developing bilateral collaboration in the public transportation system of Islamabad. The primary subject of discussion was improving cooperation, with an emphasis on developing Islamabad’s electric bus infrastructure. Kushnarenko guaranteed Belarus’s unwavering support during the negotiations for expanding the city’s electric bus network—a crucial step toward environmentally friendly and sustainable urban transportation options.
In the meeting, Gondal shared his plans of working with Belarus and that the project fits in well with CDA’s goal of building a more modern, efficient, and clean transportation system for the capital. By installing electric buses in several locations, Islamabad will be able to step toward reducing its carbon footprint and updating its public transportation system.
Along with ideas to build Belarusian electric car manufacturing facilities in Pakistan, the two parties also discussed the transfer of cutting-edge electric bus technologies and charging stations. This might increase local manufacturing and technological capabilities and lead to Pakistan becoming a hotspot to produce electric vehicles.
