Islamabad Expressway Project to be Completed by 30 Sept, 2024

Islamabad: On August 24, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), visited the Islamabad Expressway project and inspected the construction work. The chairman observed the ongoing work on covering, the railway, and the Bhandar bridges with the assistance of CDA member engineering and other officers.

Chairman Randhawa received latest news from Frontier Works Organization (FWO) representatives in his camp office and they assured him that the Islamabad Expressway construction project would be completed by September 30 despite some slight obstacles due to monsoon rains. The chairman was informed that over 98% of the work has been concluded, with the Cockbridge now open for traffic and structural work on other bridges completed.

Chairman Randhawa ordered that to improve the Islamabad Expressway’s aesthetic appeal, landscaping work should be done simultaneously. He underlined how crucial it was to finish the project, adding that it would greatly enhance the city’s traffic flow.

In addition, he emphasized the importance of implementing a strong operation and maintenance model for any upcoming highway development and maintenance. Chairman Randhawa visited Park Road later in the day to inspect the ongoing work underway on the road construction and carpeting. In order to guarantee a timely completion, he issued the officials instructions to speed up the work on Park Road.
