Jinnah Avenue Interchange Nears Completion

The Jinnah Avenue Interchange consists of an underpass and a flyover. While the underpass is already in use, construction teams are working rapidly to complete the flyover. Officials have set February 15 as the final deadline, aiming to complete the entire project within 100 days.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa briefed the minister on the project’s progress. Secretary Interior Mohammad Khurram Agha, along with NESPAK officials and other key stakeholders, also attended the inspection.

Traffic Flow Improvements in Islamabad

To ease congestion, authorities have replaced the F-10 roundabout with fish-belly U-turns on Jinnah Avenue and Nazimuddin Road. These changes will ensure smoother traffic movement and reduce travel time. Moreover, Minister Naqvi highlighted the need for proper landscaping and beautification around these projects. He directed teams to complete this work without delays.

Serena Interchange Project Faces Delays

While the Serena Interchange project started alongside the Jinnah Avenue Interchange, it has encountered setbacks. Initially planned for completion on January 5, the project will now be inaugurated on February 4.

This project includes three underpasses. One is already operational, and the remaining two on Srinagar Highway will open on February 4. However, commuters traveling from Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) and Murree cannot directly enter Srinagar Highway until an additional underpass on Murree Road is built. In response, the minister instructed the CDA to finalize the design and cost estimates for this crucial link.
