ISLAMABAD, November 2024 – In a drive to address traffic congestion, The Capital Development Authority ( CDA ) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed officials to expedite work on Islamabad’s major infrastructure upgrades: the Serena Chowk and Jinnah Avenue Interchange projects. During a recent inspection, Randhawa expressed both satisfaction and urgency, urging round-the-clock efforts to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards. The CDA expects these interchanges to significantly ease traffic flow and enhance commuter safety in the city.
CDA Chairman’s Site Visit Insights
Accompanied by senior CDA officials, Randhawa reviewed the progress on utility relocation, such as the transfer of electricity, gas, and water lines, which is essential for timely completion. He inspected ongoing construction on two planned underpasses at Serena Chowk, observing efficient work but calling for further acceleration.
In line with Islamabad’s development goals, Randhawa emphasized the need for a strong coordination effort between departments and instructed that NESPAK engineers be present onsite to oversee the technical aspects consistently. He also highlighted the importance of timely flyover construction at the Jinnah Avenue Interchange, set to improve connections to key areas, reducing travel delays for thousands of daily commuters.

The Serena Chowk and Jinnah Avenue projects are crucial for improving Islamabad’s infrastructure.
