Smart Housing Project by CDA in E-11 Islamabad

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad has given the green light to the construction of smart housing apartments in Sector E-11 and an orchard specifically for overseas Pakistanis on 1,487 kanals of land. The budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 includes a mandate for installing rainwater harvesting systems in houses, agricultural farms, and residential and commercial units larger than four kanals.

As part of the smart housing project, the CDA will assist with the installation of rainwater harvesting systems for one year but will take action against those who fail to comply. The board has also approved the hiring of consultants to address traffic issues at key intersections, ensuring third-party verification of all work before payments are made to contractors.

In addition to the smart housing project, the board has approved a health insurance policy for CDA employees, allowing them to receive medical treatment at both CDA Hospital and private hospitals in the city. The board also adopted the Efficiency and Discipline Rules 2020, which require inquiry officers to complete investigations within a month, with actions taken against those who fail to meet this deadline.

The approval of the smart housing project in Sector E-11 represents a significant step forward in modernizing Islamabad’s housing infrastructure. The integration of rainwater harvesting systems within the smart housing project underscores the CDA’s commitment to sustainable development. By addressing traffic issues with third-party consultants and ensuring rigorous project verification, the CDA aims to improve overall urban management.

Moreover, the health insurance policy for CDA employees is a welcome addition, enhancing the well-being of those who serve the city. The adoption of the Efficiency and Discipline Rules 2020 further demonstrates the CDA’s dedication to efficient governance and accountability.
